| Abstract | The fascia iliaca compartment block (FICB) has traditionally been undertaken by loss of resistance (LOR)1. Ultrasound (US) offers a number of advantages including real time needle guidance. The aim of this study was to establish whether placement of local anaesthetic under the fascia iliaca using US leads to a more complete FICB compared to that obtained by using LOR.
