John Vernon, James French and Adam Carney will be organising the 2010 meeting which will be in Nottingham on Friday Nov 12th at the Albert Hall Conference Centre. http://www.alberthallnottingham.co.uk/

 

There will be the usual good natured dinner the night before (£35 per person) at the Galleries of Justice Museum  http://www.galleriesofjustice.org.uk/ this time there may be a few extra surprises-- A Murder Mystery will unfold during the evening for us to solve. Hopefully the victim will be the Butler and not one of us! All included in the ridiculously lwo price. BOOK NOW!!

£2000 Prize money!!!

 

Instructions for abstract submission;

 

Abstracts relating to any aspect of orthopaedic anaesthesia are invited.

 

The material must not have been previously published.

 

Please send by email to bsoa.treasurer@googlemail.com

 

Please send abstract in the form of an attached MS Word document. Include in your email your NAME, ADDRESS, EMAIL ADDRESS, CONTACT NUMBER.

 

Closing date is 17.00hrs Friday October 1st 2010.

 

Successful authors will be notified prom ptly after this date, and invited to give a poster presentation, they will need to register for the conference.

 

The authors of the best abstracts will be invited to give a 7 minute oral presentation. They will have their registration fee refunded and be invited to dinner the night before.

 

Abstract of no more than 300 words please, including the following sections (if relevant:) Title, Authors, Institution, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, References (maximum three).

 

Judging panel will decide how to divide £2000 in prize money. Prizes and certificates will be awarded in the Poster and Oral Presentation section.

 

The judges decision is final.

 

If judges decide that the level of entries is not of appropriate quality(very unlikely) some of the prize money may be ‘rolled over’ to the next year. Any or all of the abstracts may be published on the BSOA website.
