| Details | The aim of the Orthopaedic Anaesthesia Day is to provide anaesthetists with up-to-date information on core topics. This year, we are delighted to confirm that our guest speaker will be prof Machata from Viena University. Her topic is "Peripheral nerve blocks in paediatric patients, and the use of ultrasound for these procedures". There will also be lectures on problems in paediatric orthopaedic practice. Other exciting lectures include the early management of spinal cord injury, strategies to minimise blood loss during orthopaedic procedures, bone malignancies, and anaesthesia for shoulder surgery. You may also be surprised to discover how many substances in orthopaedic practice can cause anaphylaxis, and how much there is to know about bone cement.
